SAPD Captures Suspect In 210 Kapone's Shooting

Update: The suspect is in custody. Police caught him at 6 p.m. this afternoon in Converse.

The San Antonio Police Department is searching for a 34-year-old man named Faustino Vazquez.

Vazquez, also known as Celestino Vasquez or by "Kasper," is accused of murdering 45-year-old Pete L. Gonzales last Sunday outside of 210 Kapone's.

Gonzales, the club's owner, had kicked Vazquez out of the club for creating a disturbance.

According to a police report, Vazquez shot Gonzales in the back outside of the club while Gonzales was dealing with an unrelated disturbance.

Vazquez is a registered sex offender, according to Texas Department of Public Safety records. He was convicted of indecency with a child in 2003 and sentenced to seven years in prison — the victim was four. DPS records show he verified his status with police March 5.

The SAPD is asking anyone with information about Vazquez's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers at 224-STOP (7867).

Anyone with information leading to Vazquez's arrest may receive $5,000 from Crime Stoppers.
