First Course: New growler station and a Dance with the Dead

Tap at Claude Hopper's.(via)

We love beer (remember San Antonio Beer Festival?) and we’re so excited to introduce you to Claude Hopper’s (19718 Blanco). This new growler station and tap room has more than fifty craft beers on tap, including Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower, Deshutes Black Butte Porter and Dogfishhead 90 Minute IPA. San Antonio is expanding its craft beer horizons, so should you.

Get ready to join Chef Margarita Carrillo Arronte at Nao (312 Pearl Pkwy) Thursday, October 23 for fun night that celebrates the debut of her cookbook, Mexico: The Cookbook. There are limited tickets to this fabulous event that can be purchased for $100 per person. Start the night off by having your copy of Mexico: The Cookbook signed by Chef Arronte, follow that up with a wine and hors d’oeuvres reception. Top off the night with a wonderful four-course dinner with recipes from Mexico: The Cookbook.

Get ready for The Institute of Texan Cultures (801 E Cesar Chavez) fourth annual Dance with the Dead on Friday, October 24. This adult-only event will have a live band, a Dia de los Muertos art exhibit, a famous dead Texans costume contest, a cash bar, and more. Tickets run from $20-$25 and you won’t wanna miss out.

It’s always great when someone rescues a pet needing a home, but it’s even better when you can enjoy $1 mimosas or $10 bottomless brunch after to celebrate. If this sounds like a good time to you, drop by The Hangar (8203 Broadway) on Saturday, October 25 for Dog Daze and Pet Adoption from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to bring home a new pet and toss back some drinks.

Movember means there will be beards everywhere. If you or your guy friend takes the challenge, the Alamo Beard Club Mustache Competition happening Saturday, November 22 at The Hangar (8203 Broadway) may be what you’re looking for. It only costs $10 to compete, but you can donate more as the proceeds benefit the San Antonio Food Bank.
