Stay Current with the Pick of the Day: Short Shorts Fest

IMG_0935 - Version 2

Organized by local actor John Lambert and co-hosted by singer/entertainer Geraldine Ortega and Milne Studio founder Brad Milne, this should be the biggest and most fun Short Shorts Fest yet. Actress Jamye Cox and actor/director/spoof master Taylor James Johnson are a winning combination that will keep things funny on the red carpet. Out of the bilingual shorts (up to 15 minutes in length), 13 local actors and directors will choose the Critic’s Pick, and the audience will pick the “Undisputed Heavyweight Champion of the Universe.” Plus: starting at 4 p.m., just before the main event, the “long shorts” (15-30 minutes in length) will be shown, including the premiere of Cedric Thomas Smith’s cancer-themed Nana’s Bunch. Proceeds benefit the Patient Family Services at the Cancer Treatment Research Center. $10 (or roll of the dice price if you wear short shorts); 7-10pm Sat, Feb 9; Josephine Theatre, 339 W Josephine, (210) 734-4646, josephinetheatre.org.
