For weeks, posts on the Starfish Facebook page mentioned new menu items and a new concept coming. Chef Diego Fernandez revealed that Starfish (709 S. Alamo St., 210-375-4423) was moving and in its place will be a new restaurant called Hearsay.
“What we’re trying to accomplish is being more accessible and more approachable to the neighborhood,” Fernandez said. “We’re significantly dropping the prices of the food and wine to something more casual.”
Some of the new dishes teased on the Facebook page include a chicken and green curry, shrimp and pork steamed buns and a chocolate brioche. Wine will be priced between $15 and $25.
As for Starfish, the plan is to move the fine dining seafood restaurant up to Austin. Hearsay’s opening is tentatively scheduled for February 15.
