Nearly a year ago, Juniper Tar (244 W. Houston, 210-229-1833) opened its doors to the San Antonio masses (and by masses, I mean 50 people at a time) eager to sip on intricately-crafted cocktails and wines by the glass.
The bar underwent minor housekeeping after its March 2015 opening, though, including a temporary closing and a change in management. However, the bar returned this past January with a new set of dress code stipulations (no more collared shirts!) and direction under Benjamin Krick, formerly with Esquire Tavern.
Today the bar maintains an impressive reputation among Texas' finest cocktail connoisseurs, and its Algarrobina Sour (concocted by manager Benjamin Krick) was even featured as this month's Cocktail of the Month in Texas Monthy. Juniper Tar sets a high standard for all SA cocktail bars, considering its extensive, ever-rotating menu and incorporation of seasonally fresh fruit, and we're here to remind you of the bar's sick 7 for $7 happy hour deal.
Juniper's happy hour runs every Tuesday through Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and promotes a 7 for $7 deal, meaning that there are seven cocktail items you can score for $7. Additionally, happy hour allows you to save $3 on a glass of wine, $2 on current menu cocktails and $1 on bottled beers.
