Let me see that Tootsee Roll.
(Editor's note: I can't stop humming the 1994 69 Boyz classic, "Tootsee Roll," and by the end of this post, neither will you.) At some point during my childhood, I loved Tootsie Rolls (Now that I think about it, I was addicted to them.) I was recently thinking about that random fact of my life so I decided to bring back that childhood addiction in a more adult form by making the “Tootsie Roll" shot.
Candy in a shot form? Yes, it’s possible. To make this shot you need equal parts coffee liqueur, vodka and orange juice. I was a bit skeptical when I discovered that you have to combine coffee liqueur and orange juice. That just didn’t seem to go together in my mind, but it makes sense. The orange juice seemed to bring out the sweetness of the coffee liqueur and give it a little tang, so it wasn’t overly sweet.
Overall, it is a delight for those of you who have a sweet tooth like myself. The only tip I can give you is to make sure not to add too much orange juice. I didn’t realize how much orange juice I had actually poured until I took the shot. So it was a little too tangy, but practice makes perfect, right? I guess that means I just need to have a few more Tootsie Rolls.
