Definitely one of San Antonio’s local bands to make some noise that people outside the 2-1-0 could hear, The Holy Knives made some moves in 2018, releasing an EP and a debut full-length. The group is actually gearing up for their first show of the year at Brick at Blue Star alongside one of the most well-known acts still shredding the Alamo City — Nick Long of Lonely Horse.

The singer, songwriter, guitar player and one-half of the powerful blues-driven desert rock duo told the Current over the phone that his set will most likely be an improvisational performance punctuated with looped guitar riffs and vocal harmonies ringing so loud that interdimensional voices could harmonize and sing along.

Free, Thu Jan. 3, 5pm, Brick at Blue Star, 1773, 108 Blue Star, (210) 262-8653, brickatbluestar.com.
