Investigators with the Bexar County Sheriff's Office are trying to figure out why a 36-year-old woman stabbed her 25-year-old nephew to death minutes after a sheriff's deputy left her property.
Authorities say Andira Abdelaziz reported an attempted break-in Tuesday morning at a home on the 12500 block of Dry Run in far west Bexar County. The deputy who responded discovered there was no burglary. Instead, the deputy learned that Andira was in an argument with her nephew, Mohammed, who used to live at the home. Andira then told the deputy there wasn't a problem and charges weren't necessary, according to a Bexar County Sheriff's Office press release.
It wouldn't take long for law enforcement to return to the scene. Authorities say Andira and Mohammed went inside the house where she grabbed a knife and allegedly stabbed her nephew. Mohammad was able to leave the house and get into a car, but instead of driving away he crashed into the house.
The deputy who responded to the car crash had just left the house and returned to find the victim in the driveway. Authorities said he was pronounced dead a short time later. No motive has been determined and Andira is charged with murder.
The San Antonio Express-News reports that around a dozen emotional family members were at the scene and that several had to be restrained, but were not arrested. According to the newspaper, law enforcement has been called to this residence nine times since early December for calls reporting criminal mischief, disturbing the neighborhood, reckless driving and traffic violations.
