Aptly, Jerry Only is the only remaining original member of the iconic horror-punk band formed by Glenn Danzig in 1977. After winning a decade-long legal battle with Danzig (over the rights to perform and record as the Misfits), Only’s led the band through two major incarnations. Now with former Black Flag members Dez Cadena and Robo, they sound a bit more metal than punk, but horror’s still an inspiration (2009’s “Land of the Dead,” the current lineup’s first single, is an homage to George Romero’s Living Dead series). While the ’80s version of the Misfits was known for ghoulish antics like grave robbing (the band was arrested for it in New Orleans while “attempting to locate” the burial site of voodoo queen Marie Laveau), you’re more likely to find the new brood in a family-owned machine shop — building their own guitars, amps, and drums. Also on the bill: JuiceheaD, Saturday Night Shockers, and So Unloved. $20, doors at 7pm, the White Rabbit, 2410 N St Mary’s, (210) 737-2221, sawhiterabbit.com, misfits.com.
