It's a great week to be a flaneur, young or old, so shush your internal erstwhile hobbyist or dedicated reader and dabble in sidewalk art and experimental theater.

Tickets are $10. For background on the multi-disciplinary RESET crew, see "Using the master's weapons," March 3-9, 2005. Call 271-3151, Ext. 26 for info.

Take the kids along on your jaunt to Artpace's Chalk It Up!, held on downtown streets from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, September 24. More than 50 local artists such as Mark Hogansen and Cruz Ortiz will create large murals along Houston Street, between Soledad and South Presa. There will also be an interactive area for the young'uns and take-home surprises. More than 3,000 people turned out last year despite heavy morning rain. The weathermen predict scattered showers for Saturday, so beat a path early to the parking garage. 212-4900 for info.
