classical poses. Occasional limbs cast in cold, hard bronze surface starkly from the fleshy softness of the resin bodies. The sculpted figures are the art of Mexico-born artist Javier Marín, whose selected works are featured at the Central Library through Sunday, March 16. Marín, whose work has been likened to that of Rodin and Manuel Neri, imprints a modern rawness in his figures through the streaked, cracked surface of their skin, leaving his own indelible impression in the resin through his fingerprints.

However lasting the impression, Marín's sculptures, casts, and body studies will not be available for viewing in San Antonio much longer. Take the time to experience these skillful compositions of classicism and contemporary art, before the moment has passed.
