Update on Friday, 2:30 p.m.: Management shared via Facebook that the building was purchased by a third party.
An offer was made by a third party to purchase the building. The offer was too great to pass up. The third party has not disclosed what they will be doing with the building.
Club Rio, the dance club off 281 that's hosted the likes of Steve Aoki, Borgore, Miguel Mateos, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Adventure Club and Julieta Venegas, announced it will shut down after its New Year's Eve bash.
The announcement came December 12 via Facebook, with a note to club-goers thanking them for 10 years of parties. We've reached out to management for comment.
