Bacon Bacchanal Will Double as URBAN-15 Fundraiser

Bacon will be the star of the show at URBAN-15's latest fundraiser on Saturday, August 18 from 7 to 10 p.m. at Big Hops at the Bridge. Local chefs will feature bacon dishes at $5 a pop to benefit the group's community-based arts mission.

Featured chefs whipping up bacon-inspired bites include Michael Sohocki and Andreas Imhof of Restaurant Gwendolyn, serving a candied bacon-wrapped chile stuffed with homemade cream cheese; Destiny Aponte and Richard Skaggs of It’s Destiny Catering, serving a bourbon pecan tartlet with chunky peach sauce and candied bacon streusel, plus sweet potato biscuits with chicken fried bacon and country bacon fat gravy; Laurel Bodinus, serving cake with marzipan bacon decoration; and URBAN-15, serving bacon-wrapped fruits.

Admission to the event is free, and custom-printed URBAN-15 pilsner glass are available for $15 (with one Big Hops beer of your choice).
