Following a promotion that quickly got out of hand, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q is doing right by customers and staying true to the $1.65 two-piece special, according to a press release sent this afternoon.
Last week, Bill Miller Bar-B-Q posted a photo (which has since been deleted) to its social media accounts inviting fans to celebrate the chain's 65th anniversary with a $1.65 meal.
Because San Antonians love a discount, many locations ran afoul and were unable to honor the promotion. Customers took to social media to voice outrage, and the fast barbecue chain later apologized for the mishap.
Now, Bill Miller asking fans to give them one more chance and will try the $1.65 promotion again.
"Last week we were humbled by their overwhelming support," said Barbara Newman, the company's controller.
This weekend only, fans in San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Austin will be able to enjoy the two-piece dark fried chicken special (with fries and a roll) from 10:30 a.m. until closing time (varies by location).
There will be a limit of five specials per order while supplies last.
