After a fire took out the kitchen and months of will-they-won't-they reopen, Broadway 5050's original location is back at it. The bar and burger lounge reopened its doors on March 17 under new ownership by husband-and-wife team PJ and Nicole Gottsacker, Alamo Heights natives and owners of Gruene Harley Davidson and Javelina Harley Davidson.
Patrons can expect to find a brand new kitchen cranking out a smaller menu with all the favorites and a cleaner, smoke-free space according to Nicole. The bar was one of the last hold-outs for SA's smoke-ban, because they're technically in Alamo Heights, which has no such ban.
"We're trying to keep everything the same, we don't want to encroach on the heritage and character of the bar," Nicole said. For those unfamiliar, the bar's menu was inspired by Quentin Tarantino's films films, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction.
Broadway 5050 will hold a grand opening April 17.
