Second Vegan Truck Opens in San Antonio

Vegan fare is hitting the road again.

This time, husband and wife team Akeem and Tara Best, are opening Go Vegan San Antonio food truck. The couple and their five children converted to a vegan lifestyle after watching the 2017 documentary What the Health. They launched Go Vegan in San Antonio last November to help make vegan options more affordable, convenient and accessible to residents.

The truck will host its grand opening on Tuesday at the Blanco Farmer's Market (901 N. Loop 1604 W.) from 2-7 p.m. and then roll into the The Rose Bush Food Truck Park (2301 San Pedro Ave.) on July 14 from 7-11 p.m.

The menu will vary but will offer vegan takes on favorites like mac 'n' cheese, tostones, sandwiches and smoothies. It's the latest vegan business to come out of the monthly Vegan Stop Shop hosted at Brick at Blue Star. Tapatio Vegan Tacos and Hip Peaz Vegan Eats both also grew out of the monthly vegan market.
