Salt and pepper brisket, shrimp cocktail, cole slaw and green chili mac and cheese.

The Dady-meets-Beard project known as B&D Ice House (1004 S Alamo) opened its doors today with steady stream of hungry patrons looking for some good brisket.

The menu houses some mean smoked meats like salt and pepper brisket, baby back ribs, smoked turkey, sausage, chicken thighs and pork steak. Homemade sides green chili mac and cheese, mustard potato salad, BBQ baked beans and creamy cole slaw are offered in single, pint and quart sizes.

B&D also makes hot and cold sammies like Southtown Slammer with sausage, potato chips and jalapeño poppers or the Bearded Lady with turkey and chipotle mayo. Dessert wasn’t left out with a banana pudding and strawberry cobbler.

B&D will be open at 11 a.m. just for lunch for the next two weeks, March 20-23 and March 27-30 with plans to open up for lunch and dinner April 1 (no, seriously). Closing time is whenever “It’s all gone” so get there early.
