You’ve got to give them points for ingenuity.

A North Side bank was robbed early Friday by a few resourceful criminals driving a stolen forklift. According to San Antonio police, the suspects removed an ATM from the property with the help of a Skytrack telescopic forklift and, of course, their imagination.

The robbery took place at Pioneer Bank in the 900 block of East Basse Road near Nacogdoches around 4:45 a.m. After obtaining the ATM, the suspects fled and left the forklift in the bank parking lot.

Police recovered the stolen ATM early this morning and are using surveillance footage from the machine to identify the suspects.

The is not the first time San Antonio bandits have used a forklift to steal an ATM. In fact, the idea seems to becoming trendy among criminals, as North Side banks have faced forklift-assisted robberies three times in 2017 and now for the second time in 2018.
