Two children were shot Tuesday night while playing outside an East Side apartment complex. According to police, three men shot at a group of people gathered outside the East Commerce St. complex just before 9 p.m. The boys, ages 3 and 7, were playing among the crowd and were the only ones injured in the shooting.
The 7-year-old was shot in the jaw and sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to the San Antonio Police Department's report. The 3-year-old boy was grazed in the head with a bullet, but didn't require emergency medical care.
It's unclear if SAPD has picked up any of the three suspects who drove off after the shooting. According to the report, "all witnesses and possible suspects" have been taken in by SAPD for questioning.
The shooting took place just around the corner from where 4-year-old De-earlvion Whitley was
shot and killed by a drive-by shooter in July while inside his house.
