A new tool from Slate tells you if you're a gentrifier.
Like most major urban centers, gentrification is creeping, or perhaps barging, into nooks and crannies all over San Antonio.
Developers seep into neighborhoods where lots are cheap and homes are ripe for flipping, pricing out longtime residents and
catalyzing task forces. Too much of it on the Southside could even jeopardize the Spanish missions' status as a UNESCO Heritage Site.
This isn't a new phenomenon. But what about you? Where do you stand in all this? Are you a gentrifier?
Slate, in partnership with Ingrid Gould Ellen, a professor of public policy and urban planning at New York University, have developed a handy tool to answer that question.

The calculator is obviously not a perfect tool, but it's valuable nonetheless. Anyway, you'll have to excuse us — we've got a big afternoon planned scouting locations for an
artisanal mayonnaise shop.
