The HemisFair Park Area Redevelopment Corporation, The Magik Theatre, Gemini Ink, and more than a dozen other area groups join forces for the inaugural Hemisfear Halloween celebration. All five historic homes in the park will welcome trick-or-treaters with different themes including The Wizard of Oz, Ghostbusters, Zombie Nerds, Alice in Wonderland, and Superhero Hideout (courtesy of TGB Partners, Lynd Company, Rackspace, Blonde Creative, and UTSA Historical Preservation Association students). Ghosts, goblins, and fairy princesses can work their way through a life-sized maze (complete with costumed actors and a spooky keyboard player), have their faces painted, jump on a bouncy castle, or contribute to a sidewalk chalk mural. The SA2020-sanctioned event also rounds up an array of food trucks and features book giveaways, a costume contest, and live music by Cryin' D.T. Buffkin and the Bad Breath and Delve Deep. Free; 4-8:30pm Wed, Oct 31; HemisFair Park, 434 S Alamo, hemisfair.org. Check out our full online calendar of upcoming events here: calendar.sacurrent.com.
