Residing just up the I-35 corridor in Austin, Texas, the quartet Alex Napping have been pumping out their indie-pop jams since 2013. A nice breather from the synth-heavy age we’re currently in, the band’s guitar-forward tracks and are reminiscent of The Broken Social Scene’s instrumentation matched with breathy female vocals of artists like Laura Veirs.
While Alex Napping may sound like they might’ve been on a indie record label sampler CD from 2004, their songwriting is still catchy as hell and definitely worth noting.
Also on the bill is Elena Lopez’s new project Elnuh, a dreamy garage project that sounds like if Hole went in a psychedelic pop direction.
