The psychedelic heaven above 1604 just gained another star, as Creatura called an "indefinite hiatus" yesterday on Facebook. Getting their feet on the ground in 2013, the band hit a gig-heavy stride last year, releasing the Open the Door EP at Hi-Tones last spring in one of the best and pickle shot-iest parties I've ever seen. The five-track EP is a rippin' example of Jeffersonian psych, with incensed turns into darkness and a general funk of incense.

But, the band's members have been making a heap of noise in the wake of Creatura's silence. You can catch guitarist Andy Suhre in Antique Sunlight and the forthcoming spaghetti western rock 'n' roll project The Backbones.

Bassist Nick Federico is one lobe of garage duo Fish Brain, playing guitar and guiding the pair through the 2014 album Sun Dried. With Creatura drummer Marc Smith, they're planning a new thing called Rabbit Tobacco. Smith is about a mover in his own right, playing guitar in Mockingbird Express, waxing cosmic in the electronic-psych project Shiva's Medicine Chest and spins as DJ Dynamic Jagger.
