June 14: 'American Idol' auditions in SA

This is what it looked like in L.A. on June 7. Our advice for SA: get there early.

San Antonio has been chosen to host American Idol auditions. Everyone looking to audition for the show's 12th season must pre-register on June 12 or 13 at the Alamodome. Two forms of photo ID are required to register. You are allowed to bring one person with you but they will also need to bring two photo IDs. No children under the age of five will be allowed inside. A parent or guardian must accompany anyone under 18 to both registration and the audition. This person must be the same at both registration and the audition. You will be issued a ticket and a wristband once you have registered. Auditions will be held Thursday, June 14 at the Alamodome. They begin at 5am and run until the producer decides they are finished. Overnight camping will not be allowed. Registration does not guarantee the opportunity to audition. There will be a large turn out, so arrive early!! You must bring your wristband, ticket, two forms of ID, and a signed release form (which can be found on the American Idol website) to the audition. Forgetting any of these items will either keep you from auditioning or get you sent to the end of the line (which pretty much means you won't be auditioning). Check the website for updates on specific times and rules. americanidol.com.
